Last time we discussed the elements of Hip-hop on the music side of it and now we tackle the remaining elements which are Graffiti Art, Street Fashion and Language plus Street Entrepreneurialism. Sa ibang list or articles it’s only 4 or 5 main elements: DJing, MCing, Breakdancing & Graffiti and the rest are considered subcultures and some say Graffiti is not connected to hip-hop. If you didn’t catch the 1st part here’s the link: https://therealphs.com/elements-of-hip-hop-part-1/
2. Street Language
I’m thinking about Hip-hop slangs or terms on this one. If it’s Pinoy style you want, no better way to show you that than this video link right here:
It doesn’t have to be related to Hip-hop when it comes to Street Language. These are also called “slangs”. You’re right if your thinking the words like homie, Fo Shizzle My Dizzle from the Snoop D-O double G himself or cliques, etc. or anything that may is related to street gangs or the young society in general but there are also terms like Aussie = Australians, Awesome! that means great of course or booze that means alcohol or kung ano-ano nanamang nakakabobong terminologies coming from the common Millenilas siguro, slang narin ata un. Balakajan.
